Bajaj Pulsar N160: Same Price, Other Options
Here are a few similarly priced alternatives for those who aren’t entirely sold on the new Pulsar N160
The Pulsar lineup gets a new addition as Bajaj has just launched the new Pulsar N160, priced at Rs 1,22,854 for the single-channel ABS variant and Rs 1,27,853 for the dual channel ABS variant (ex-showroom Delhi), the only motorcycle in its segment that offers dual channel ABS.
This is the third bike born out of the all-new platform after the Pulsar N250 and the Pulsar F250. Consequently, it shares quite a bit of its genes with the quarter litre twins. However, if you’re still not sold on the latest Pulsar, here are five options that you could look at which cost around the same:
1) TVS Apache RTR 160 4V - Rs 1,26,925
The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is a direct competitor to the new Pulsar, and is now very closely priced to the N160 as well. This feature-loaded bike is powered by a 159.7cc, 4-valve engine producing 17.55PS and 14.73Nm. The special edition variant is also priced Rs 928 lesser than the Pulsar and gets multiple riding modes with a plethora of tech, which makes it a great proposition.
2) Aprilia SR160 - Rs 1,30,373
This sporty Italian scooter offers delightful agility and peppy performance. This coupled with snazzy graphics makes it a good choice for youngsters. Priced Rs 2,520 more than the N160, the SR160 is powered by a peppy 160cc engine that makes 11.01PS and 11.6Nm. Of course, being a scooter, it is a very practical alternative to the Pulsar N160 if your riding is mainly limited to the urban environment, with the occasional long ride.
3) Hero Xpulse 2V - Rs 1,23,150
Next up is the impressive off-road focussed bike from Hero’s stable, the Xpulse 2V. This motorcycle is priced Rs 4,703 lower than the N160, and is powered by a 199.6cc mill that produces 19.1PS and 17.35Nm. It also gets an optional Hero Connect feature that lets you hook up your smartphone for a whole bunch of functions, while an optional rally kit is also available which includes fully adjustable longer travel suspension, Maxxis rally-spec tyres, a flatter seat, and handlebar risers.
4) Ola S1 Pro - Rs 1,20,149
If you’re on the lookout for an electric vehicle at the Pulsar N160’s price range, then look no further than the Ola S1 Pro. Sure, it has drawn its fair share of criticism, however, that doesn’t change the fact that this electric scooter is rather impressive. Priced Rs 7,704 lower than the N160, this scooter has the potential of becoming your first choice for a commuter and with the new MoveOS 2.0 update, there’s never been a better time to welcome this scooter home.
5) Vespa VXL 125 - Rs 1,29,527
Last, but definitely not the least, comes the Vespa VXL 125. Priced Rs 1,674 more than the new Pulsar N160, this scooter is powered by a 124.45cc motor that produces 9.92PS and 9.6Nm. With a kerb weight of only 115kg compared to the N160’s 154kg, this retro-styled scooter is a bliss to handle, especially in traffic. Its peppy colour options and quintessential classic styling will definitely turn heads wherever it zips by.
