Bajaj Pulsar NS125 Performance Numbers Explained - Acceleration, Mileage And Braking

Modified On Jul 21, 2021 09:00 AM By Jehan Adil Darukhanawala for Bajaj Pulsar NS 125

How peppy is the new Pulsar 125’s performance?

We were quite surprised with the launch of the Bajaj Pulsar NS125. It seemed that Bajaj was diluting the Pulsar brand with another 125cc bike. More so, it is heavier than the standard Pulsar 125 and doesn’t make that much extra power. However, the new NS125 has turned out to be quite a revelation. Here’s what the performance numbers reveal about the small NS bike:

Acceleration

Bajaj Pulsar NS125

0-60kmph

6.60 seconds

0-80kmph

12.27 seconds

The NS125 uses a downsized version of the NS160’s air-cooled mill. While it struggles at low revs, it is a hoot once the revs start climbing up. It is the quickest 125cc air-cooled bike that we have tested, with the liquid-cooled KTM 125s being the only two bikes faster in the 125cc space.

Roll-on Acceleration

Bajaj Pulsar NS125

30-70kmph in 3rd gear

7.81 seconds

40-80kmph in 4th gear

10.53 seconds

Since you have to wring the throttle to get it going, roll-on performance is not exactly brilliant. It is quicker than its standard Pulsar counterpart but when you want to make quick overtakes, your best solution would be to shift down a cog or two.

Braking

Bajaj Pulsar NS125

80-0kmph

39.68m

60-0kmph

21.36m

This is one area where we feel the NS125 needs improvement. Its disc/drum brake setup doesn’t have quite the bite that we would have liked. Plus, with no ABS, it might be a bit hairy in panic braking scenarios.

Fuel efficiency

Bajaj Pulsar NS125

City

64.75kmpl

Highway

56.46kmpl

Not only is the Pulsar NS125 one of the peppiest 125s in the market, it is also one of the most frugal bikes on sale today. It is far more fuel-efficient than the standard Pulsar 125 and also matches the Hero Glamour 125 BS6 with its city scores.
