Bajaj Two-Wheelers Witness A Massive Sales Drop
However, the company records highest ever annual export sales
Bajaj Auto has witnessed a massive drop of 30 percent in its two-wheeler sales for Q4 FY2022 as compared to Q4 FY2021. The reason for the sharp reduction in sales, according to the company, is the severe supply chain challenges that directly affect the sales of the vehicles.
Moreover, Bajaj Auto has also witnessed an annual sales drop of nine percent from 2021 to 2022. However, the company has also recorded a massive growth of 22 percent in annual export sales. Bajaj Auto claims that the exports now contribute to over 52 percent of the company’s net sales, making it a saving grace for the company.

There are many contributing factors to the major two-wheeler domestic sales drop for Bajaj Auto which include the semiconductor shortage across the world, skyrocketing fuel prices and manufacturing materials for bikes and scooters becoming more expensive.

Another reason could be that Bajaj already has many products above the 150cc capacity limit, which are generally more expensive to buy and don’t manage anywhere close to the volumes that commuter motorcycles do in our country.
In other news, Bajaj has trademarked the name ‘Pulsar Eleganz’. Does this mean that the Pune-based bikemaker could be reviving the OG Pulsar? Read our full report and analysis here.
