The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) data on TVS for May 2024 is out. Here’s a list of the bestselling TVS bikes and scooters.

TVS Motor Company has a wide range of two-wheelers like electric scooters, ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) scooters, commuters, naked and fully-faired bikes, catering to different segments in the market. The SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) sales data for May 2024 is out for TVS bikes and scooters with their year-on-year (YoY) growth data:

Here is the list of the top 5 TVS bikes sold in India: 

1) TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

Engine: 159cc

Max Power: 17.55 PS @ 9250 rpm

Max Torque: 14.73 Nm @ 7500 rpm

Mileage: 49.8 Kmpl

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is one of the favourite bikes in the 160cc segment, it is also one of the most powerful bikes in its class. The bike has a sharp design, is feature-rich and has 3 riding modes- Sport, Urban and Rain. It is powered by an air-/oil-cooled single-cylinder 159.7cc engine producing an impressive 17.55PS at 9520rpm and 14.73Nm at 7250rpm in Sport mode, whereas in Urban and Rain mode, it makes 15.64PS at 8600rpm and 14.14Nm at 7250rpm. The bike gets a segment-first feature like the Glide Through Traffic (GTT) Technology that helps to easily ride through traffic with the rider only needing to modulate the clutch.

3) TVS Raider 125

The Bumblebee-looking TVS Raider 125 is one of the most loved premium commuter bikes in the market. The bike has a sporty-naked design. It is powered by an air/oil-cooled single-cylinder 124.8cc engine making 11.38PS and 11.2Nm and paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Adding to its premium feel, it is equipped with an LED headlight and tail lamp but it has halogens for the turn signals. While the front of the bike looks attractive the rear section seems out of place. The top-end SmartXonnect variant is equipped with a 5-inch colour TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity for features like turn-by-turn navigation, weather updates, music control, call/SMS alerts, voice assistance, nearby fuel pump locations, cricket updates, and social media updates, which seems like a bit of an overkill.

The TVS Sport is the cheapest bike from TVS and is a reasonably feature-packed 110cc commuter. The bike is powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder 109.7cc engine paired with a four-speed gearbox. The bike is equipped with a telescopic fork, five-step preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers and 130mm front and 110mm rear drum brakes. It is a lightweight bike, weighing 112kg kerb making it easy to navigate through city traffic. The bike gives an impressive mileage of 70kmpl, coupled with the 10-litre fuel tank it should give excellent range.

The TVS Radeon is one of the most versatile 110cc bikes in the market. The bike is powered by a single-cylinder 109.7cc engine making 8.08PS and 8.7Nm and it is paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The bike has a soft suspension setup and a well-cushioned seat making it a comfortable bike to commute on. While it is not a looker, it does the job it is designed for very well.
