The M 1000 RR is available in two variants: Standard and Competition

Its 999cc engine has been retuned to make 212PS and 113Nm.BMW Motorrad has launched the M 1000 RR in India. It’s available in two variants: Standard and Competition priced at Rs 42,00,000 and Rs 45,00,000 (ex-showroom) respectively. That’s an exorbitant price no matter which way you put it. The high premium can be attributed to the bikes being imported as CBUs (Completely Built-up Units). Those who can afford them, can head to the nearest BMW Motorrad showroom to put down a deposit and book the bike.
The changes, compared to the standard S 1000 RR, are quite substantial so keep your eyes peeled. For starters, the M 1000 RR can cut through wind more efficiently thanks to aerodynamic clear-coat carbon M winglets and a tall windscreen. The chassis has also been tweaked for better handling. Then there's the M-package which includes lighter M carbon wheels, an M battery, and more potent M brakes. Other notable features include a 6.5-inch TFT display, a USB charging socket under the seat, LED light all around, and heated grips.
The Competition pack raises the bar with a truckload of carbon fibre and billet components. The former comprises carbon front and rear mudguards, carbon upper fairing side panel, carbon tank cover, carbon chain guard, and a carbon sprocket cover. Billet milled parts include engine protectors, folding brake and clutch levers, brake lever guard, and rider footpegs. You also get a GPS-lap trigger, passenger kit, and a pillion seat cover as part of the package.

It now makes 212PS at 14500rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 11000rpm. BMW has managed to extract more performance from the engine by revising certain engine components, increasing the compression, and using a lightweight exhaust system made entirely of titanium.
It gets four riding modes -- Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race -- in the standard trim with Pro riding modes (Race Pro 1-3) offered as optional extras. The Pro modes are freely programmable as per the rider’s needs, which means you can alter the sharpness of the throttle, engine braking, traction control, wheelie control, ABS, and ABS Pro. The ‘Pro Modes’ also give access to launch control and add a pit-lane limiter.
BMW Motorrad will also offer a range of optional equipment and accessories for the M 1000 RR. Moreover, for additional peace of mind, the M 1000 RR models come with a standard warranty of three-years/unlimited kilometres. You can even opt to extend the warranty period for the fourth and fifth year, for extra cash of course.
