BMW R 18 Launched In India From Rs 18.90 Lakh
The cruiser will be available in two variants
BMW Motorrad has launched its R 18 cruiser in India at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom India). The bike will also be offered in a special version called First Edition, which costs Rs 21.90 lakh. Bookings for the R 18 cruiser has begun a while ago with the deliveries slated to begin soon.
BMW has been working on building a large cruiser for a while now. The concept was shown in 2019 with the production ready version displayed earlier this year. The bike gets its styling genes from the R5 roadster that BMW built over 80 years ago. And hence it dons the same black overall as the old motorcycle. On the First Edition, you get traditional BMW white pinstripes on the body, chrome finished elements and First Edition badges.
The heart of the motorcycle is a 1,802cc boxer twin that puts out 91.1PS and 158Nm, of which 150Nm is generated from revs as low as 2000rpm. It gets several riding aids including traction control, MSR and hill start assist (First Edition only).
The BMW R 18 goes head to head with the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy 114 and the Indian Chieftain.
