BREAKING: 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180 Launched

Modified On Feb 23, 2021 02:55 PM By Praveen M. for Bajaj Pulsar 180

It undercuts the Pulsar 180F by Rs 6,611

It replaces the Bajaj Pulsar 180F. Powered by the same engine as the Pulsar 180F. It’s 5kg lighter than the 180F.

The 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180 was spotted at a dealership just a few days back, and now the brand has officially launched the motorcycle in India, replacing the Pulsar 180F. It is priced at Rs 1,07,904, undercutting the Pulsar 180F by Rs 6,611.

The bike is powered by the same engine as the Pulsar 180F. The 178.6cc air-cooled engine with electronic carburettor makes 17.02PS at 8500rpm and 14.52Nm at 6500rpm. It is linked to a 5-speed transmission. The underpinnings have been carried over too. This includes a telescopic front fork, twin 5-step preload adjustable gas-charged rear shock absorbers, 280mm front and 230mm rear disc with a single-channel ABS as standard.

Compared to the older-gen Pulsar 180, no changes have been made to the bodywork of the resurrected model. It looks similar to the Bajaj Pulsar 150 Twin Disc. The bike features a halogen headlamp, LED tail lamp, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. Thanks to the smaller bikini fairing, the kerb weight has gone down by 5kg (compared to the Pulsar 180F), tipping the scales at 151kg kerb.

At 1,345mm, the wheelbase is 5mm shorter than the Pulsar 180F. That said, the 15-litre fuel tank has remained unchanged. It should ensure good range for touring. The motorcycle goes up directly against the TVS Apache RTR 180. If you’re willing to spend around Rs 20,000 more, you can also take a look at the Honda Hornet 2.0. Here’s how it feels to ride in the real world

After the subsequent price hikes over the years, there was almost a 10,000-rupee price gap between the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc and the Pular 180F as of January this year. The reintroduction of the Pulsar 180 has narrowed down the gap to just Rs 2,925. For such a small premium, customers will be able to get a much more powerful bike but with the same styling and features as the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc. On the flip side, this could cannibalise the sales of the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc variant. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
