On the design front, the Bavarian ADV hasn’t changed much. It still carries the same mahusive stance. Thanks to the Special Edition livery, the R 1250 now has more colour options to choose from.
Powering the 2021 BMW R 1250 GS range is the BS6 compliant 1,254cc boxer engine that puts out 138PS and 143Nm. The engine also features variable valve control or in BMW lingo, the Shiftcam Technology. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox linked to the shaft drive system.
Not much has changed on the feature-front either, the R 1250 GS lineup continues to use LED lights all around, a TFT display, updated Hill Start Control, traction control as well as three riding modes. However, BMW now offers the cornering lights as an optional extra.
The suspension duties are handled by the telelever and the paralever setup, unique to the GS 1250 range. Anchoring the BMW R 1250 GS are 305mm dual discs up front mated to radial callipers and a 276mm rear disc. Dual-channel ABS comes standard.
The R 1250 GS rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear laced wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tubeless tyres. Munching miles shouldn’t be a second guess, thanks to the 30-litre large fuel tank.
In terms of competition, the R 1250 GS competes against the Harley Davidson Pan America and the soon to arrive Ducati Multistrada V4.
