Modified On Mar 14, 2023 11:02 AM By Bernard Mascarenhas for Bajaj Pulsar NS160

Now gets an upside-down fork and is OBD 2-ready

Bajaj has taken the wraps off the 2023 iteration of the Pulsar NS160 in India. It is now priced at Rs 1,34,675 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is a premium of Rs 9,651 over the 2022 model. Here’s a quick look at what it packs.

The biggest update on the 2023 Bajaj NS160 is the addition of a 33mm upside-down fork. Additionally, the petal disc brakes and Bybre callipers have been replaced by circular discs and Grimeca callipers. The front disc size, specifically, has increased from 260mm to 300mm, the same as the N250 and F250. It also gets a new black shade with an updated livery.

The NS160 remains to be powered by the same 160.3cc single-cylinder mill producing 17.2PS and 14.6Nm, which is paired to the same five-speed gearbox. The frame and rear suspension are carried over from the 2022 model. Also, as BS6 phase 2 norms are due to kick in from next month, the NS160 is OBD 2-ready now. Bajaj claims a fuel efficiency of 45kmpl from this mill.

The NS160 rolls on 17-inch alloys which are lighter by a kilo, wrapped in wider 100/80 and 130/70 section MRF Nylogrip Zapper rubber at the front and rear respectively. It gets the safety net of dual-channel ABS as standard. The 2023 iteration tips scales at 152kg, a weight gain of a kilo over its predecessor.

The semi-digital instrument console too has been revised, and now comes equipped with a gear position indicator in addition to all the features seen on the outgoing model. That said, it continues to miss out on smartphone connectivity and navigation.

At a price tag of Rs 1,34,675, the 2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is priced only Rs 5,030 more than the Pulsar N160. With more premium underpinnings, Bajaj may well look to enter the premium sub-160cc segment in its sights like the Yamaha MT-15 V2 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
