Breaking: Check Out The Newly Launched Pulsar N160 In These Eight Pics

Modified On Jun 22, 2022 06:51 PM By Ishan Lee for Bajaj Pulsar N160

This new middle member of the Pulsar family is hard to distinguish from its older sibling

After much speculation and waiting the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 has finally arrived. Based on the new generation of Bajaj's Pulsar 250 twins, the new middle member of the Pulsar family now borrows heavily from its older naked sibling, the Pulsar N250. Let’s have a look at what’s new in these eight images:

The new Pulsar N160 comes wearing a sporty streetfighter look just like the bigger Pulsar N250. It gets the same aggressive LED projector headlight and frosty LED DRLs as its older sibling.

In fact, the floating body panels, muscular fuel tank, tank shrouds, sporty split seat and new tail light design all get carried forward onto the N160.

The ‘infinity’ display instrument console on the new N160 is the same as that on the N250. The console displays basic readings like gear position indicator, time, fuel and range indicator. Finally, it also gets USB charging for that extra shot of convenience.

This is a new generation Pulsar and gets a new engine that’s different from the old Pulsar NS160. The 164.82cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine mated to a five-speed gearbox makes 16PS and 14.65Nm. While that may be 1.2PS less than the NS160, the torque is not only by 0.5Nm but also comes in a lot earlier than the NS160.

The N160 uses the same frame as that of the N250. The single-channel ABS version weighs 152kg(kerb) and the dual-channel one reaches 154kg(kerb); that's now heavier than the NS160’s 151kg(kerb).

The new frame is suspended on a 37mm telescopic fork and a gas-charged monoshock setup, while braking is handled by a single 300mm front disc and 230mm rear disc with dual channel ABS.

Opt for single channel ABS and you’ll have to make do with a front disc that’s smaller (at 280mm) while the rear remains the same. Finally compared to the NS160, the new N160 gets a meatier 100-section front tyre and wide 130-section rear tyre.

The new Pulsar N160 costs Rs 1,27,853 for the dual channel ABS option and Rs 1,22,854 for the single channel ABS option (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). While the dual-channel ABS variant will be offered in only black, the single-channel ABS variant will be offered in three colours: red, blue and grey. What do you think of the new N160?
