BREAKING: Hero XPulse 200 4V And Xtreme 160R Stealth Spied Ahead Of October Launch

The ADV is likely to  come with a rally kit-equipped variant too

Days after we spotted a Hero XPulse 200 with 4-valve configuration being tested, the updated adventure bike was snapped at a dealer briefing event, hinting that the launch could be as early as October. Our sources in Hero MotoCorp have also revealed that buyers will have the option to purchase the ADV with the Rally Kit fitted straight from the factory.

The biggest update on the XPulse comes in the form of a 4-valve head, which will replace the current bike’s 2-valve assembly. This improvement in tech will lead to better all-round riding and hopefully, more performance. Currently, the air and oil-cooled 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine produces 18.04PS and 16.45Nm. With the 4-valve configuration, we can expect it to be near, or more than, the 20PS mark.

Another update to the XPulse 200 4V comes in the form of new dual-tone paint schemes. Earlier, the bike was spotted in a black-and-blue colour, and now we have seen it with a white-and-blue paint job. The Indian bikemaker has also introduced a new livery with the bike, adding freshness to its visual appeal. Hero motoCorp has even updated the switchgear on the XPulse, and it will now feature an integrated starter-cum-kill switch, similar to the Xtreme 160R.

Hero MotoCorp’s decision to introduce the Rally Kit as a standard fitment is a welcome change. Currently, the kit retails for close to Rs 40,000, and with the stock bits being replaced straight from the factory, prospective buyers stand to save up significantly. Recently, TVS introduced a similar business model with the Apache RR 310 Built To Order (BTO) program.

The dealer event also had a new Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition on display. This bike is likely to flaunt only cosmetic updates, similar to the 100 Million Edition, and will demand a premium of Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 over the standard model.

With the festive season around the corner, we expect Hero MotoCorp to launch the Hero XPulse 200 4V and the Xtreme 160R Stealth soon. The standard model of the XPulse 200 4V is likely to be priced around Rs 1.30 lakh, while the Rally Kit-equipped model could set you back by Rs 1.55 lakh, making it just Rs 11,000 more expensive than the faux ADV from Honda, the CB200X. Not a bad deal at all, if you ask us.
