Nashik-based EV startup Revamp Moto, which sparked the interest of the sharks on Shark Tank India, has now launched the RM Buddie 25 slow-speed e-scooter at Rs 66,999 (ex-showroom). Bookings for it are currently open on the company’s website for Rs 999. It’s available in a total of five colours, all of which look funky and attractive. 

As attractive and quirky as it looks, the Buddie 25 is also utilitarian. With a boxy design and minimalist styling, the electric scooter comes equipped with attachments like a base rack, carrier and even a child seat, all of which can be opted for on the brand’s website. Also, 12-inch wheels at both ends further boost its practicality.

The Buddie 25 gets a top speed of 25kmph which makes it eligible for riding without a license, and offers a claimed range of 70km. What’s even better is that you can charge the portable, under-seat battery pack from nought to 80 per cent in one hour and 45 minutes, while a full charge will take an hour more! In terms of features, it has an LCD console. 

At Rs 66,999 (ex-showroom), the Buddie 25 sure is a fair bit more expensive than the TVS XL100 (Rs 45,741, ex-showroom Delhi onwards), but it looks way better, while retaining the practical bits that the XL100 boasts. So, if you’re looking for a rugged, do-it-all moped, but with a modern twist, the Buddie 25 presents itself as quite an interesting proposition. That way, it goes up against the Okinawa Dual 100 and the Detel EV Easy Plus.
