BREAKING: Royal Enfield 650 Twins Now Finally Roll On Tubeless Alloy Wheels
Both bikes are now more modern with new LED headlight, a USB charger and fresh colours
Royal Enfield has finally updated the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 with a bunch of much-needed upgrades making the bikes more modern than ever. Check the table below for the new prices and the price hikes:

The most important update on the new variants has to be the alloy wheels with tubeless tyres making them more modern and convenient as compared to the tubed spoke wheels. The twins now also come equipped with an LED headlight borrowed from the Super Meteor 650. The Continental GT now runs an 18--inch wheels wrapped in Vredestein tyres, with a rear radial unit. The Interceptor continues to run on 18 inch wheels wrapped in Ceat tyres.
Along with this, the twins now feature new non-adjustable levers on all trims, a USB charger on the left switchgear, and rotary-style switches similar to the Meteor 350, Classic 350 and the Hunter 350, for a retro touch to an otherwise youthful update.
For a visual update, Royal Enfield has draped both the bikes in new colourways – Black Ray and Barcelona Blue on the Interceptor 650 and Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey on the Continental GT 650. Adding to these youthful shades are a blacked-out powertrain, underpinnings and exhausts, which give a rather stealthy appeal.
The Interceptor gets two more new colours: Black Pearl (through MiY only), and Cali Green. However, these new colours don’t feature alloy wheels or the blacked-out treatment.
Powering the bike is the same 648cc air and oil-cooled parallel-twin motor belting out 47.45PS at 7250rpm. However, it is now BS6 Phase 2 OBD2 compliant and makes 52.3Nm at 5150rpm (0.3Nm more at 50rpm earlier). The Underpinnings remain the same as well - telescopic fork and dual shock absorber with a 320mm disc up front and 240mm unit at the rear for braking.
With this update, the Royal Enfield 650cc twins are now more wholesome, even with a hefty price hike, and make for a better modern companion. However, we do hope that the semi-digital console indicated more readouts than just the basic speed and odo and featured a tripper pod as well.
