Design

The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 looks quite a lot similar to the Classic 350 on which it is based. It gets the same set of LED lights, instrument cluster, and fuel tank. To give the Goan Classic 350 a cool vintage vibe, Royal Enfield has equipped it with an ape-style handlebar which is higher and more upright than the one on the Classic. The footpeg position has also changed and is more forward set to increase comfort. The Goan Classic 350 comes in flashy colour options, unlike the Classic which gets more subtle colour schemes. Adding to the look of the Goan is the floating seat which looks spectacular in the single seat option. The rear fender also looks different and is attached to the swingarm. The seat is also specific to the Goan and adds to the appeal. The white-walled tyres and the tubeless spoke wheels complete the Goan’s look. The Goan Classic 350 gets a slash-cut exhaust compared to the Classic’s pea-shooter unit.

Engine and Underpinnings

The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is mechanically the same as the Classic 350. They share the same 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which makes 20PS at 6,100rpm and 27Nm at 4,000rpm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The chassis too is the same but Royal Enfield has made some tweaks to it which gives the Goan a much lower 750mm seat height compared to the Classic’s 805mm. The suspension unit consists of a telescopic fork and dual-shock absorbers which are the same as the Classic but the rear has a different state of tune which allows for a slightly increased wheel travel of 105mm over the Classic’s 90mm. Ground clearance is the same 170mm for both motorcycles. Brakes include a 300mm disc at the front and a 270mm disc at the rear mounted on 19-inch front and 16-inch rear tubeless spoke wheels. The kerb weight has been increased which is now 197kg, a 2kg increase over the Classic 350.

Features

The list too remains the same, an analogue speedometer with a small digital inset for the odometer, trip meters, and fuel gauge, and a tripper pod as standard which shows turn-by-turn navigation. The bike gets LED lights all-round and dual-channel ABS is standard across all the colour options.

Rivals

The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 goes against the likes of Jawa 42 Bobber and the Perak. If you are in the market for a bobber-styled motorcycle, the Goan Classic 350 is an option you cannot ignore especially now when it comes with tubeless spoke wheels and funky colour options.
