BREAKING: Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Unveiled!

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 comes with a claimed mileage of 22kmpl and is expected to launch in January 2024

Royal Enfield has finally unveiled the much-awaited production-spec version of the Shotgun 650. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is set to be launched in January 2024, and we expect it to be priced at around Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Shotgun 650 comes with a retro-modern bobber design. It features a teardrop-style metal tank and metal panels, and flaunts the Royal Enfield logo on the tank while the engine casing has a metal Royal Enfield badging. The powertrain and the underpinnings are blacked out in all colour variants. The Shotgun 650 will be available in four colour options: Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Sheetmetal Grey. The bobber gets a different alloy wheel design as compared to the Super Meteor 650.

The Shotgun 650 is powered by a 648cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, shared with the Super Meteor 650, that produces 47PS and 52.3Nm, paired with a 6-speed transmission. The motorcycle gets a 13.8-litre tank, 1.9 litre less than the Super Meteor, and claims a mileage of 22kmpl. 

Built on a steel tubular spine frame, the Shotgun 650 gets a specially tuned 43mm big piston Showa front inverted fork and twin-tube 5-step preload-adjustable dual shock absorbers at the back. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 gets mid-set footpegs and offers an upright riding position but with a slightly forward lean.

The Shotgun 650 has a 795mm seat height, which makes it a massive 55mm taller than the Super Meteor. The bike offers 140mm ground clearance, which is 5mm more than the Super Meteor 650. It has a kerb weight of 240kg (1kg less than the Super Meteor). The Shotgun 650 rolls on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with 100-section front and 150-section rear tubeless Ceat Zoom Cruz tyres.

The bobber-style motorcycle borrows multiple features from the Super Meteor 650, including the LED headlight, indicators, and taillight. The motorcycle also gets the same semi-digital instrument cluster and Tripper navigation pod (turn-by-turn navigation) as the Super Meteor. Additional features include a USB charger, bar-end mirrors and twin peashooter exhausts finished in matte black. Though it's a bobber, the bike comes with a rear seat that’s designed to pop out with just the twist of a key. This enables the Shotgun 650 to switch between three styles: from single seater to double seater to luggage-carrying tourer.

The Shotgun 650 is also equipped with the newly launched Royal Enfield Wingman. This app helps riders by providing real-time information about the bike's location, fuel, and engine oil levels. It also sends service reminders and more.

Royal Enfield is offering 31 genuine accessories for the new Shotgun 650. Additional offering from the brand includes a matching apparel range. The new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be launched globally in early 2024.

The Shotgun 650 doesn't have any competitors in the 650cc segment but rivals the Jawa Perak and Jawa 42 Bobber from the smaller 350cc segment.
