Triumph India has launched the all-new Speed T4 in India, along with the 2025 Speed 400. The new bike is based on the Speed 400 platform. However, it is cheaper at Rs 23,000 cheaper than the Speed 400. Here’s about the new bike in detail:
What is the price of Speed T4 and 2025 Speed 400?
The Triumph Speed T4 is launched at Rs 2,17,000. It is available in three attractive colour options: Metallic White, Phantom Black and Cocktail Red Wine.
Triumph India has also updated the Speed 400 for 2025. It gets new colours: Racing Yellow/Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black/Pewter Grey, Pearl Metallic White/Pewter Grey and Racing Red/Pearl Metallic White. It is now priced at Rs 2,40,000 (ex-showroom), making the Speed T4 Rs 23,000 cheaper. The older, 2024 Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2,34,497. All prices ex-showroom, India.
What’s New?
The new Triumph Speed T4 is the more affordable iteration of the Triumph Speed 400. It is based on the same platform and gets the same 398.15 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. However, it has been detuned and now makes 31PS at 7000rpm and 36Nm at 5000rpm which is 9PS and 1.5Nm lesser than the Speed 400. The Speed T4 gets new graphics, now it has a “400” graphic on the tank and the “Speed T4” name on the side panels.
The bike is equipped with new underpinnings to lower the costs, like a telescopic fork instead of an upside-down fork setup, the seat gets more padding. The bike now rolls on a 110-section MRF Zapper-FX2 front tyre with a 17-inch wheel at the front and a 140-section MRF Zapper-FX2 wrapped around a 17-inch wheel at the rear. The bike’s seat height is now 16mm higher than the Speed 400 coming to 806mm. The wheelbase is 1406mm, 29mm longer than the Speed 400. The kerb weight is 180kg, 4kg gain over the Speed 400.
Along with the new colours, the 2025 Speed 400 now gets a thicker seat for more comfort in the saddle. It rolls on radial Vredestein tyres and it is equipped with adjustable levers too.
What’s the same?
As mentioned, the Speed T4 is based on the Speed 400 platform and it shares multiple components. It holds onto its retro aesthetic carrying the same round LED headlight, rounded tank design and slender tail end. The bike is fitted with the same analogue speedometer with an LCD screen showing a tachometer, odometer, trip meter and other basic information. It also gets the same 13-litre fuel tank.
Who are its rivals?
The Triumph Speed T4 competes in the retro-roadster segment and rivals the likes of the Jawa 42 FJ, Honda CB350RS and the Hero Mavrick 440.
