TVS has launched the Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition in India at Rs 1,28,720 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is now the top-of-the-line variant. With that, the 160cc bike gets an exclusive Matte Black colour. It gets red and grey stripes with carbon-fibre-inspired graphics and red alloy wheels that enhance its sporty appeal.
With that, the Apache RTR 160 2V is available in seven colour options: Glossy Black, Pearl White, Gloss Black, Racing Red, Matte Blue, T Grey and the latest Racing Edition. Moreover, apart from the aesthetic updates, the Racing Edition remains unchanged in terms of engine and hardware.
The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Racing Edition is powered by a 159.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It comes with three riding modes: Sport, Urban and Rain. In Sport mode, it delivers a peak output of 16.04PS at 8750rpm and 13.85Nm at 7000rpm. Whereas, in Urban/Rain mode, it makes 13.32PS at 8000rpm and 12.7Nm at 6500rpm. The Apache RTR 160 2V accelerates from 0 to 60kmph in 5.3 seconds and delivers a real-world tested mileage of 45.06kmpl in the city and 46.99kmpl on the highway.
The TVS Apache RTR 160 is equipped with an LED headlight with LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and a revised LED tail lamp. It features a full-LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. It displays a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meters, clock, gear indicator, and basic tell-tale lights
The Apache RTR 160 Race Edition is the top-end variant and gets all the features of the disc variant. It gets a telescopic fork and gas-charged twin rear shock absorbers. For braking, it has a 270mm front disc brake and a 200mm disc rear disc brake. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with a 90-section front tyre and a 120-section rear tyre. On the other hand, the lower-priced drum variants come with a 130mm rear drum brake and a 110-section rear tyre.
The RTR 160 2V Race Edition has a 12-litre fuel tank capacity, 790mm seat height, 180mm ground clearance and a 138kg kerb weight, whereas the drum variants weigh 137kg (kerb).
