Breaking: TVS Ronin Launched In India At Rs 1,49,000
Comes packed with premium hardware, lots of features and a powerful motor all at a competitive price
After several teasers and speculations, TVS has finally launched the Ronin at Rs 1,49,000 and Rs 1,56,500, for the single-channel, single tone variant and dual-tone variant, respectively. The top-of-the-line dual channel triple-tone variant of the bike retails at Rs 1,68, 750 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). It is lsihlt more expensive than its stablemate the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V which retails at Rs 1,39,690 for the single channel variant and Rs 1,44,740 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the dual channel variant.
In terms of appearance, the TVS Ronin adopts a proper neo-retro design. It gets a teardrop-shaped, muscular fuel tank and minimal body panels. Accentuating the retro appeal are the circular LED headlight, with T shaped embedded inside it, and the single-piece seat. At the rear, it gets an LED integrated light bar. The motorcycle has been setup to demand an upright seating position, with mid-set foot pegs and a mid-rise handlebar.
The attractive body design is paired with a potent mill. The TVS Ronin is powered by a 225.9cc air-oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 20.40PS at 7750rpm and 19.93Nm at 3750rpm. In comparison, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V gets a 197.7cc single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine which produces 20.82PS and 17.25Nm.
The Ronin’s motor is paired to a five-speed gearbox and gets an assist and slipper clutch. The bike is claimed to have a top speed of 120kmph and TVS says the Ronin will offer a strong low-end and mid-range torque, which would mean the engine can pull with ease at slow speeds on higher gears.

It tips the scales at 160kg (kerb) for the dual channel varint and 159kg kerb for the single channel variant, and has a seat height of 795mm. The RTR 200 4V weighs slightly less than the Ronin at 152kg (kerb) with a seat height of 800mm.
Apart from the premium hardware and a potent engine, the TVS Ronin comes packed to the gills with features. It gets a fully digital offset circular instrument cluster with TVS SmartXonnect and Bluetooth connectivity (on the higher variant). The TVS Ronin is Rs 47,000 more affordable than its closest rival, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250. However, the Husky produces 9.6PS and 4.07Nm more than the newly launched TVS motorcycle. All in all, with the new Ronin, TVS should be able to capitalise on the fast-growing sub-300cc neo-retro segment as it looks the part and is loaded with tech and features that young audiences love.
