BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 300 Gets Two New Colours
The 2021 Ninja 300 will make its India debut next week
Kawasaki had recently teased two upcoming bikes, and according to our sources, one of them was the BS6 Ninja 300 with its launch slated for the first week of March, 2021. Now, the Japanese manufacturer has revealed two new colour options for the upcoming Ninja.
Unlike the Ninja 650-like paint option seen earlier, the new colours are a combination of black and green, with new graphics. Both paint schemes -- while one is all-black, the other is a green tank with a green lower fairing -- have the fairings, headlamp assemblies, and tail units in common. The new graphics extend to both sides of the headlamp and the tail light.

As for other updates, not much has changed. Instead of an overhaul, Kawasaki seems to be playing it safe with the Ninja 300’s likeable eight-year-old design, with split-halogen headlamps and a digi-analogue instrument cluster. LED lighting and a new instrument cluster seem to be on hold for now.
So, what’s different? The engine. Well, not exactly, but the baby Ninja’s 296cc parallel-twin motor will be tweaked to meet the BS6 norms. Owing to this, the motorcycle might suffer a slight drop in peak power and torque figures. For reference, the Ninja 300 made 39PS and 27Nm in its BS4 avatar.
Along with this, expect the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 to put on a little weight, thanks to the addition of a new catalytic converter. It will be interesting to see where Kawasaki will position the catcon and if it will affect the 300’s ground clearance. Its underpinnings will likely remain as they are.
The BS6 Ninja 300 is expected to set you back by around Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom), Rs 22,000 more than before. Unofficial bookings have already begun at select dealerships. With the KTM RC 390 set to receive an overhaul for 2021, it will be interesting to see how the BS6 Ninja 300 will fare against it.
