2020 Kawasaki Z650 Unveiled In India
Expect a price hike of up to Rs 81,000 over the current BS4 model priced at Rs 5.69 lakh

The 2020 Kawasaki Z650 made its global debut at EICMA in November 2019. It comes with new features. Powered by a BS6-compliant 649cc parallel-twin engine.Kawasaki has launched its 2020 middleweight supernaked, the Z650, just days after introducing the latest iteration of the Z900. The 2020 Z650 is likely to be priced between Rs 6.25 lakh and Rs 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). That's a price hike of around Rs 56,000 or Rs 81,000 over the current BS4 model, which retails at Rs 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes equipped with a new headlight cowl, an LED headlamp, and a smartphone-compatible 4.3” TFT instrument cluster. The bike is available in a single Metallic Spark Black shade.

As for its powerplant, the Z650 is powered by an updated BS6-compliant 649cc parallel-twin engine that makes the same power as before but loses out on torque. To put things into perspective, the new Z650 generates the same 68PS at 8000rpm while 64Nm of torque is produced at 6700rpm as opposed to 65.7Nm at 6500rpm in the 2019 model. The engine retains the 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. Its 17-inch wheels come wrapped in Dunlop Sportsmax Roadsport 2 tyres. Interestingly, the 2020 model is 3kg lighter (187kg) than its predecessor which tips the scale at 190kg kerb.
