CFMoto 300NK: Everything You Need To Know

Modified On Jul 19, 2019 01:10 PM By Gaurav Sadanand for CFMoto 300NK

Here’s why you should take note of the Chinese brand’s most affordable offering

After months of waiting and drooling over spy images, we finally got a chance to see all four offerings from CFMoto in the flesh. And boy do they look good! The most affordable of them all is the 300NK, which is priced at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and goes up against the KTM 250 Duke and more established rivals like the Honda CB300R and the BMW G 310 R. That said, does it pack enough equipment and features to make a stand against these three nakeds. Here’s a closer look at the 300NK.CFMoto 300NK

Design & Features:

CFMoto’s entire lineup is designed by the Austrian design studio Kiska. These are the same folks responsible for styling KTMs and by extension putting them on the map! Not surprising then that the 300NK looks just as sharp, sleek and compact.

It also comes packed with a tonne of features. For instance, the bike gets an LED headlight, taillight and turn signals, a full-colour LED display, split seats, an upside-down fork, engine cowl and a tyre hugger as standard. The 300NK also features a USB charger as standard. Strangely enough, the two modes on the bike (Rain and Sport) only change the colour and layout of the colour LED display. This can be done by toggling through the mode button on the left-hand side switchgear. That said, the brand has plans of adding navigation to the instrument console in the future.

Right! How’s the build quality?

Pretty good we’d say! Past experiences with cheaply built items have created a negative impression of products coming from China, but CFMoto has done a really good job putting the 300NK together. The fit and finish of the bike looks good with neat welds on the trellis frame and well-finished alloy wheels. We just wish the switches could have been as premium as the rest of the components on the bike.

Does it pack enough grunt?

Well, at least on paper, it’s almost on par with the KTM 250 Duke. The bike’s 292cc single-cylinder DOHC  liquid-cooled motor puts out 28PS of power at 8800rpm and 25Nm of peak torque at 7200rpm. It’s paired to a 6-speed transmission. Interestingly, the bike weighs just 151kg (kerb) which when paired with its power output should make the bike pretty light on its feet. Notably, the engine is equipped with balancer shafts, which means vibrations should be toned down.

Is it well-equipped?

A performance-oriented bike requires underpinnings befitting its character, and the 300NK doesn’t disappoint. It features a premium upside-down fork, a monoshock linked to a tubular swingarm, a massive front disc clamped by a radially mounted caliper from J Juan and a single rear disc brake. All of this is held together by a lightweight tubular steel trellis frame. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard for added safety while its radial tyres at the front and rear should offer decent grip.

What about Bookings, deliveries and warranty?

Bookings for the CFMoto 300NK will commence from August 5 for a token amount of Rs 5,000. The brand's dealership network will be set up by September and deliveries for the bikes will commence a month later in October 2019. That’s not all though, to sweeten the deal, CFMoto will be offering a standard 2-year warranty plus an extended warranty period of 3-years on all four bikes for the initial phase. Besides this, roadside assistance will be free of charge for a radius of up to 300km.
