CFMoto 300SR: All You Need To Know
Yes, this fully faired motorcycle is headed to India. So here’s everything you need to know about the CFMoto 300SR
After the 250SR, CFMoto has now unveiled its second small-capacity faired bike, the 300SR. You may be wondering why this motorcycle is relevant. Well, it is set to enter our shores, likely this year itself. So if you’re saving up for this one, our detailed explanation about this motorcycle will give you a clear picture.
India launch details:
CFMoto is likely to launch the motorcycle in the country by the second half of this year. While the naked sibling, the CFMoto 300NK is priced at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-Delhi), expect the CFMoto 300SR to be around Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will enter our shores in BS6-compliant guise as the country is set to switch to the new emission norms on April 1.
Gets 300NK-based powertrain:
The CFMoto 300SR is powered by the 292cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC motor which does duty in the 300NK as well. However, it offers 1.2PS more at 250rpm later down the rev range compared to the 300NK. Even the peak torque has gone up by 0.3Nm and it arrives at 250rpm later. Here are the detailed specs:
Specifications |
CFMoto 300SR |
Engine |
292cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine |
Peak power |
29.09PS at 8750rpm |
Maximum torque |
25.3Nm at 7250rpm |
Transmission |
6-speed with slipper clutch. |
While both bikes get a 6-speed transmission, the slipper clutch in the CFMoto 300SR will help in downshifting aggressively without letting the rear wheel lock-up. This will be of great use while going around a racetrack or down a mountain road.
Do note that these figures are for the BS4/Euro 4-compliant motorcycle. Expect a small drop in power or torque figure when the bike is launched in India in BS6 guise.
Packs premium underpinnings:
The CFMoto 300SR packs a 37mm inverted front fork and a monoshock at the rear. Brakes include a 292mm front disc with a radial caliper and a 220mm rear disc. For optimum safety, it gets Continental dual-channel ABS which prevents the wheels from locking up during hard braking.
The 110-section front and 140-section rear tyres are radial, hence their sidewalls are stronger than conventional tyres. This will help improve stability while cornering. Thanks to the added weight of the fairing, the bike is 14kg heavier than the CFMoto 300NK, at 165kg (kerb).
Is feature-packed too:
CFMoto has equipped the bike with a proper TFT instrument cluster. It also offers smartphone connectivity. And like most CFMoto bikes, the 300SR also gets changeable instrument cluster layouts (Sport and Rain modes). However, they are not actual riding modes as they only change the layout of the contents in the instrument cluster.
Another notable feature is the all-LED lighting system, which looks really well-designed. After all, the bike’s design firm (KISKA) is responsible for KTM’s mad machines as well. The riding ergonomics are expected to be pretty aggressive as it comes with clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs. On the flip side, the ground clearance is pretty low at 135mm, which is 15mm lower than the 300Nk. It also gets a 0.5-litre smaller fuel tank than the naked bike, at 12 litres.
When launched, the CFMoto 300SR will go directly against the TVS Apache RR 310 BS6. Another more powerful single-cylinder faired alternative would be the KTM RC 390 BS6.
