(Update: Hero MotoCorp has launched the all-new Karizma XMR! Check out the bike here)
The 2023 Hero Karizma XMR 210 test mule has been spied on recently in a production ready avatar. The resurrection of Hero's iconic sport biking ambassador has stirred up some excitement of late and the extensive testing hints at an imminent debut. But first, here's everything you need to know about the bike.
This next-generation Karizma, like its predecessor, is a fully faired motorcycle but much nicer to look at. It’s sharp, sporty and looks modern. That said, the LED headlight is similar to the Xtreme 200S and gets integrated LED DRLs and indicators. The large and flared up fuel tank, and split seat add to the bike's athletic look. However, it’s worth noting, despite the sporty split seat, the saddle appears to be rather comfortable. The raised clip-on handlebars and mid-rear footpegs appear to offer a sporty yet neutral ride; Much like what you’d find on the Bajaj Pulsar RS200.
In terms of performance, it’s speculated to get a 210cc liquid-cooled engine, churning out power and torque enough to rival the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. Speaking of hardware, it gets a telescopic fork and a monoshock and petal discs at either end with axial callipers for anchoring. Also, it appears to have dual-channel ABS too, which would be a first for Hero MotoCorp.
To summarise, the upcoming Hero Karizma XMR 210 might be a game changer for the Indian bikemaker while staying faithful to the famous Karizma moniker. This new liquid-cooled platform could hold the key to Hero’s return to sport biking after decades of commuting. We expect it to make its debut in September 2023, with an ex-showroom price of roughly Rs 1.75 lakh to rival the RS200 and KTM RC 200.
