COVID-19 Pandemic: TVS Resumes Production At All Its Plants In India

Published On May 6, 2020 06:06 PM By Praveen M. for TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

The company has resumed operations with all the necessary safety guidelines

The coronavirus pandemic has brought the whole world to a complete halt since March. All the Indian manufacturers were forced to shut down to comply with the strict lockdown from March 23. But now after over a month, the Indian government has eased up the lockdown rules and allowed manufacturers to begin operations, albeit by taking all necessary precautions. In compliance with the latest announcement, TVS Motor Company has commenced production at all of its plants in India, in Hosur (Tamil Nadu), Mysuru (Karnataka) and Nalagarh (Himachal Pradesh).

The company says it has taken all the measures to ensure social distancing and general hygiene, and has come up with a comprehensive “preparedness manual” for its employees. This should ensure that they comply with all the necessary safety guidelines to help minimise the spread of the virus.

TVS Motor is also continuing to offer work from home (WFH) option for certain categories of employees, in adherence to respective state government policies. This decision to resume production should help reduce the financial burden for the brand which, along with many other manufacturers, have been experiencing abysmal sales since the lockdown began.

We hope TVS also opens up at least select dealerships in green zones so that two-wheeler sales can resume. This should go a long way in helping them out financially. Once the situation completely normalises, expect TVS to introduce the remaining BS6-compliant updates of its existing lineup like the TVS Scooty Zest 110 and the TVS Victor. The BS6-compliant version of the TVS Scooty Zest 110 was recently teased on the brand’s official website. Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming scooter.
