Take a closer look at this off-road friendly scooter from China
Chinese manufacturer Dayang has launched its 350cc ADV scooter, the Vorei ADV 350, in its home country. The ADV 350 serves as an elder sibling to Dayang’s ADV 150, a notorious rip-off of the Honda ADV 150 (check it out here).
Unlike usual Chinese rip-offs that are eyesores, the Vorei actually looks pretty decent.
It presents an angry fascia thanks to its twin headlamps featuring quad-LED projectors along with radical DRLs. You also get a tall and clear adjustable visor up front.
You rest on a long and wide scooped seat, seemingly comfortable for both occupants. The scooter also gets grab rails with a small integrated luggage rack, adding to its ADV appeal.
Rounding off the sporty design is the Vorei’s swanky, one-of-a-kind LED tail lamp, which will surely appeal to Wonder Woman fans.
The Vorei’s highlight, though, isn’t its design but its feature list. Dayang has thrown in a bucketload of features, including a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, all-LED illumination, illuminated switchgear, keyless ignition, and smartphone connectivity. It even lets you charge your phone via a USB port and there’s a lighter too.
The TFT display also acts as a screen for the front and rear cameras -- an unusual feature for a scooter.

Like its 150cc counterpart, the ADV 350 also rides on a telescopic front fork, twin rear gas-charged shock absorbers, and 14-/13-inch alloy wheels wrapped in block pattern tyres for the occasional off-road stints.
Other impressive aspects of the Vorei include its huge 17.4-litre fuel tank and low 765mm seat height, uncanny for ADV offerings. That said, the bevy of features and the big size have led to an enormous weight of 208kg -- 10kg more than the Royal Enfield Himalayan!
Dayang has priced the ADV 350 at Rs 3.18 lakh (converted from its Chinese price), which makes zero sense for our market that prioritises low pricing over features.
