Ducati Panigale V4 SP2: Photo Gallery
The supersport is offered in a single-seating configuration and a 'Winter Test' livery
The 2022 Ducati World Premiere ended with the unveiling of the new Panigale V4 SP2. The 2022 iteration of the supersport has received both mechanical and cosmetic updates, and it will be available at dealerships across Italy from this month onwards.
Let's take a closer look at the bike in our detailed image gallery.
Starting with the design -- the motorcycle looks sharp and aggressive, with a transparent windscreen, twin projector LED headlights with DRLs, and new smaller winglets with the Italian flag.
The bike looks sporty, thanks to the single-rider seat, adjustable Rizoma footpegs, and the air vents on the fairing. The design is complemented by the 'Winter Test' livery -- a combination of matte black on the fairing, red highlights, matt carbon finish on the rims and wings, and brushed aluminium finish on the fuel tank and the underbelly exhaust.
The Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 comes equipped with four riding modes (Race A, Race B, Sport, and Street), a TFT instrument cluster with a 'Track Evo' display mode derived from the Moto GP bike, Ducati data analyser, and a GPS module that activates automatic lap time function. For safety, the supersport features an electronic control unit that includes cornering ABS, traction control system (DTC), slide control (DSC), wheelie control (DWC), power launch (DPL), quick shifter (DQS), engine brake control (EBC) and electronic suspension (DES).
Powering the Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 is a 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 Euro 5 engine that now produces 217.98PS (1.52PS more than the 2021 Panigale V4) and 123.6Nm. Customers can further enhance the performance by opting for the new full-titanium Akrapovi? racing exhaust that reduces the bike's weight by 5kg (tipping the scales at 168kg). This exhaust increases the power and torque figures to 231.16PS and 131Nm.
The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox, and, to make it all the more track-oriented, Ducati has also introduced lightened final drive with 520 chain and the STM-EVO SBK dry clutch.
The Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 uses an aluminium front frame with an updated aluminium swingarm for improved anti-squat movement.
The bike is suspended on an electronically controlled Öhlins NPX25/30 pressurised fork (125mm travel) at the front and an Ohlins TTX36 monoshock at the rear.
For braking, it gets dual discs up front (further assisted by Brembo Stylema R brake callipers) and a single disc at the rear.
The Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 runs on five-split spoke carbon wheels that are 1.4 kg lighter than the aluminium forged ones of the Panigale V4 S.
We expect the bike to arrive in India by the end of 2022, with a price tag of around Rs 40 lakh. In the meantime, watch out for the Ducati Panigale V2 Troy Bayliss Edition that will be launched here on March 13.
