Ducati Scrambler 1100 BS6 Launching Tomorrow

Modified On Sep 21, 2020 09:45 AM By Benjamin Noel Gracias for Ducati Scrambler 1100

Ducati is expected to offer both the 1100 Pro and the 1100 Sport Pro variants this time

It will be the second BS6 motorcycle to be launched in India after the Panigale V2.  It gets a Euro5/BS6 compliant 1079cc air-cooled, L-twin motor. It is expected to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Ducati is all set to launch the Scrambler range tomorrow. However, it will not be the 800cc scramblers that are coming first but the larger 1100cc ones. The Italian bikemaker is expected to launch both the 1100 Pro and the 1100 Sport Pro variants in India this time. Both motorcycles are expected to be offered at a premium over their BS4 predecessors, at around Rs 12 lakh and Rs 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new scramblers feature a Euro5/ BS6 compliant 1079cc air-cooled L-twin motor. The standard variant is rated at 84.7PS at 7250rpm and 90.5Nm at 4750rpm. The Sport pro variant makes more power at 85.65PS but has a lower torque output at 88Nm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. Both variants get three riding modes (Active, Journey and City), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and cornering ABS as standard.

Besides the motor, the Scrambler 1100 gets cosmetic updates as well. It now features a side stacked twin exhaust setup, new graphics and colours. It also gets a digital instrument console.

The Scrambler 1100 Pro gets a 45mm Marzocchi fully adjustable USD fork and a Kayaba monoshock with preload and rebound adjustability. The Sport Pro model uses a 48mm fully adjustable USD fork and an Ohlins rear monoshock, which is adjustable for preload and rebound. To offer a distinctive riding experience, the Pro variant gets a lowered handlebar with bar-end mirrors.

It is interesting to note that Ducati has chosen to launch the Scrambler 1100 range before the BS6 Scrambler 800 range. That’s because the Scrambler 800 hasn’t received its Euro 5 update overseas. When launched, the BS6 Ducati 1100 range will compete with the upcoming Triumph Scrambler 1200 BS6 range..
