Ducati Set To Launch Diavel 1260 On August 9
The 2019 Diavel is slightly more powerful and sharper than its predecessor
Diavel 1260 gets a more futuristic, compact and sharper design than the earlier Diavel 1200. The Diavel 1260 is powered by a 1262cc liquid-cooled L-Twin motor that churns out 159PS and 129Nm. New features include LED headlamps, colour TFT screen, self-cancelling indicators and an updated infotainment system.Ducati is all set to launch the Diavel 1260 on August 9. It is likely to go on sale at Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom), which will make it Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh more expensive than the previous model.
The new Diavel 1260 retains the design ethos of the power cruiser. It gets sleek-looking brushed metal panels as tank extensions. LED lighting has helped Ducati make the headlight and the tail lamp slimmer. The cockpit gets a new TFT screen which gets an optional multimedia system compatible with the Ducati Link App.
The Diavel 1260 is powered by a larger 1262cc liquid-cooled L-Twin DVT motor that churns out 159PS and 129Nm. It gets a 6-speed transmission with slipper-clutch and hydraulic actuation. This is the same power unit found on the XDiavel and the Multistrada 1260. The new Diavel gets dual-channel Bosch Cornering ABS. In terms of electronic aids, it gets various rider modes and multi-level traction control. Ducati has also added the likes of wheelie and launch control on this brute.
It gets a 50mm adjustable USD fork and the rear monoshock is preload as well as rebound adjustable. Helping the motorcycle come to a halt are dual 320mm discs with Brembo M4.32 radial calipers at the front and a 265mm disc with Brembo caliper at the rear.
Ducati is also likely to bring the S variant to India, which is expected to be Rs 1.5lakh to Rs 2 lakh more expensive than the standard variant. For the extra money, you get a top-spec, fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension, machined alloys and Brembo M50 monobloc brake calipers.
