EICMA 2015: Hyosung GV300, GT300R and GT650R revealed

Published On Nov 18, 2015 12:00 AM By Rommel Albuquerque

Hyosung is impressing us with some really cool looking motorcycles at this years ICMA motor show. At the stall we saw the GV300, the GT 300R and the GT 650R apart from the GD450. Let’s take a look at three of these new offerings.

Hyosung GV300

Now Hyosung already have a few cruisers in their stable but more is always better. So they’ve revealed a new small cruiser – The GV300. The new 300 looks pretty low slung and sleek with its flat handlebars, short fenders and chrome silencer. The side panels looks a bit too angular compared to the rest of the motorcycle but the overall design is pleasing to the eye. This new cruiser is powered by a 275cc air cooled engine that churns out 26.68PS at 8500rpm and 23.5Nm at 7000rpm mated to a five speed gear box. It gets a single disc brake in the front and at the rear and comes with ABS. The 14liter fuel tank is more than enough to keep you going for a long time and with a curb weight 165kg, it’s not too heavy.

GT300R

The GT300R is a fully faired motorcycle that looks similar to the Yamaha R15. The front fairng and tank shrouds lend it a very sporty look and the rear set foot pegs and high windshield means you’ll be able to duck down and ride at higher speeds easily. The updated Hyosung GT300R runs a bored-out version of the current 250cc V-twin but now the 275cc engine puts out 28PS at 10500rpm and 23Nm at 7000rpm. The GT300R will come with ABS as standard.

GT650R

The GT650R is in almost all ways a bigger version of the GT300R. It looks similar but the engine is bigger, the fairing is bigger and the silencer longer. It gets a 647cc liquid cooled V-Twin engine which is mated to a 6 speed gearbox. It pumps out 74.3PS at 9000rpm and 64.5Nm at 7500rpm. It’s got a ground clearance of 165mm and comes to halt using twin petal shaped discs at the front and a single disc at the rear while ABS comes as a part of the package.
