EXCLUSIVE: Bajaj CNG Bike Spied Again
Spotted alongside the Bajaj Platina 110, the CNG motorcycle is likely to deliver performance similar to a 110cc petrol-powered bike
The upcoming Bajaj CNG motorcycle has been spotted testing again, this time alongside the Bajaj Platina 110, which hints that the bike would offer performance similar to a 110cc petrol engine from its CNG engine. Having said that, the engine is likely to have a bigger displacement as CNG is less power-dense than petrol.
The spied bike has a long flat seat with the CNG cylinder placed horizontally under it, running parallel to the seat's length. There also appears to be a large panel gap on the fuel tank, likely to be a large flap that can be opened to access the CNG cylinder’s valve.
Bajaj’s upcoming CNG bike is also expected to feature a small petrol tank that can be used in an emergency. The blue switch on the left-hand side switchgear is likely to be used to manually change the fuel mode. To know more about the workings of the bike, check out our analysis of the patent images. The spied bike also features a digital instrument console, likely to be LCD.
The spy shots also reveal that the bike gets a braced handlebar with knuckle guards. The bike features mid-set footpegs and appears to have a relaxed riding posture. The spied bike has a heel-and-toe gear shifter, a telescopic fork and a monoshock at the rear. It appears the bike has a disc at the front and the rear gets a drum brake. It has an upswept exhaust, a leg guard at the front, a saree guard at the rear and a large tyre hugger.
