EXCLUSIVE: Bajaj CT 110X Prices Revealed, Starts Arriving At Dealerships

The new variant of the commuter sports quite a few changes over the standard model

The frequent price hikes from Bajaj may have put off many potential customers, but there’s some light at the end of the tunnel, considering the Indian two-wheeler giant has quite a few exciting launches lined up for this year. After launching the Platina 100 ES and Platina 110 ABS , the company is gearing up to launch another commuter, the CT 110 X. It carries a nominal premium over the standard CT 110, and has started arriving at select dealerships. Though official prices aren’t out yet, we’ve managed to get our hands on the ex-showroom price of the bike in Hyderabad, which is Rs 56,700 -- about Rs 1,700 more than the standard model.

Details are scarce at the moment, but just like with the slew of new colours for the Pulsar range, the launch of the CT 110 X has been delayed due to the fresh outbreak. However, Bajaj maintains the bike will be launched in the coming weeks. So, what does the new variant have to offer?

To start with, the bike gets a new halogen headlamp unit with a headlight guard. However, the LED DRL on the flyscreen has been lifted from the standard model. The Bajaj CT 110 X also gets a luggage rack along with a rubberized grab rail. Other minor changes include rubberized crash guards, handlebar brace, and a basic, matte-finished front fender instead of the standard model’s glossy unit.

Bajaj says the CT 110 X, which will be available for rural and urban markets, isn’t a budget-friendly adventure bike. Instead, it’s more of a rugged alternative to the standard model, meant for those who must deal with bad or rough roads regularly. For that reason, the bike has been shod with dual-purpose tyres and has an adequate gap in between the fenders, making it easier to ride in heavy rains. It also gets better crash protection.

The Bajaj Platina 110 has the longest seat in its class, and Bajaj could replicate the same with the CT 110 X. In fact, the CT 110 X gets footboards on either side (to carry two pillions?) along with the regular pillion footrests.

Mechanical changes are unlikely. So, expect the same 115cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine, producing 8.6PS at 7,000rpm and 9.81Nm at 5,000rpm. This engine comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox.

Expected to launch by the end of April, the Bajaj CT 110 X will compete against the TVS Radeon and Hero Splendor.
