EXCLUSIVE: Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6, Pulsar 180F Neon BS6 Specifications Revealed

Modified On Feb 14, 2020 01:09 PM By Praveen M. for Bajaj Pulsar 220 F

The Pulsar 220F BS6 makes slightly less power whereas the power output of the Pulsar 180F Neon has remained unchanged

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 costs Rs 1,16,262 (ex-showroom Pune). The Bajaj Pulsar 180F Neon BS6 will set you back by Rs 1,07,315 (ex-showroom Mumbai).  While the dimensions of the Pulsar 220F BS6 remains the same as the BS4 model, it isn’t the case with the Pulsar 180F Neon.

We’ve got our hands on the specifications of the Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 and the Pulsar 180F Neon BS6 ahead of their official launch! As per our sources, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 costs Rs 1,16,262 (ex-showroom Pune), whereas the Pulsar 180F Neon is priced at Rs 1,07,315 (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Based on a leaked document, we now know that the Bajaj Pulsar 220F makes slightly less power. In its BS6 guise, the 220cc, fuel-injected, air-cooled motor with oil cooler produces 20.39PS at 8500rpm. Comparatively, the BS4-compliant carburetted motor makes 20.93PS at the same rpm. Expect torque to go down slightly in favour of cleaner emissions.

The 1350mm wheelbase, 750mm width, 1165mm height, and 2035mm length have remained unchanged. Expect the kerb weight to go up by a couple of kilos more than the current 155kg.

Fortunately for the Bajaj Pulsar 180F Neon BS6, the peak power (17.02PS at 8500rpm) remains the same. But expect the peak torque figure to go down slightly just like how it is in the recently-launched Bajaj Pulsar 150 BS6. Interestingly, the BS6-compliant bike’s dimensions are slightly different. It gets a 1350mm wheelbase (5mm more), a 750mm width (15mm more) and a 1165mm height (50mm). These changes aren’t that significant and shouldn’t affect the motorcycle’s dynamics all that much. The 15mm extra width and 50mm extra height might be because of a new set of mirrors for superior visibility. That said, the 2035mm length remains unchanged. Overall, the Bajaj Pulsar 180F Neon BS6’s dimensions are now equal to the Pulsar 220F BS6.

Apart from these, both motorcycles are likely to retain their underpinnings as before. The two motorcycles get a telescopic front fork, twin Nitrox rear shock absorbers, 260mm front, 230mm rear disc with single-channel ABS as standard. The Pulsar 220F BS6 rides on 90-section front and 120-section rear whereas the smaller 180F gets a slimmer 80-section front and 110-section rear tubeless tyres. Expect the same setup in the BS6 iteration as well. In terms of competition, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 will go head-to-head with the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 whereas the chief rival to the Bajaj Pulsar 180F Neon will be the TVS Apache RTR 180, Hero Xtreme 200S and the 155cc Suzuki Gixxer SF.
