EXCLUSIVE: Bajaj Pulsar 250F Spotted Testing Again, Interesting Details Emerge

Modified On Jul 29, 2021 11:32 AM By Manaal Mahatme for Bajaj Pulsar F250

The Pulsar 220 F’s replacement shows the new direction in which the Pulsar range is headed

The Bajaj Pulsar 250F has been topping the headlines recently. We’ve now spotted the bike on test in Pune and managed to capture some of the clearest images yet, which reveal some new and interesting details. This bike will be the first of the new breed of motorcycles to spawn from Bajaj’s new 250cc platform. The Pulsar 250F is meant to replace the ageing Pulsar 220 F and is built on the same ethos.

The new spy shots reveal a single LED projector headlamp, flanked by LED DRLs -- a first for the Pulsar range. Another first is the LED indicator, similar to the KTM bikes. The tail lamp is also an LED unit, resembling an “X”, unlike any of the Pulsars on sale now. That said, though this upcoming Pulsar gets a new fairing, it retains the 220 F’s styling elements such as the mesh panel on the fairing, albeit in an evolved form.

The Bajaj Pulsar 250F also has easy-going yet sport ergonomics like the Pulsar 220F. It features raised clip-on handlebars similar to the Pulsar RS200 and the 220F, however, the 250F’s unit seems to be slightly taller than its siblings. The footpegs are slightly rear set for better control over the bike, but not so much to make it uncomfortable during long hours on the saddle. Even the seat seems wide and comfortable for long rides and despite the split-seat design, its design is similar to a single-piece unit.

Bajaj has equipped the bike with a simple box-section swingarm linked to a monoshock, another first for this range. The wheels and the braking system seem to be borrowed from the Pulsar NS200. The bike is likely to be equipped with a single-channel ABS unit. The exhaust is a double-barrel unit, much like the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Dominar 250.

The Bajaj Pulsar 250F will be powered by a new engine which will be an air and oil-cooled unit. We expect this new engine to put out better numbers than the Pulsar 220F, but not more than the Pulsar NS200.

The Bajaj Pulsar 250F appears to be in the final stages of testing so we can expect it to hit the streets as early as September. It’s likely to be priced at Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom), almost the same as the 220F. At this price tag, it could be the most affordable quarter-litre bike in the country, beating the Yamaha FZ 25.
