Exclusive: BS6 CFMoto 650NK, 650MT And 650GT India Launch Soon

CFMoto might shock us with aggressive pricing for its BS6 range 

We recently had a chance to interact with the CEO of CFMoto India, Vamsi Krishna. Of many things, we learnt the brand will re-enter the 650cc segment of motorcycles in India by April 2021.

The three models planned for 2021 are the same as before: 650NK, 650MT, and 650GT. While the 650NK is a naked motorcycle, the 650MT is an ADV, and the 650GT a sports-tourer. 

CFMoto doesn’t plan on changing too much with respect to the engine and the underpinnings. The BS4-compliant parallel-twin liquid-cooled 649.3cc unit made 61.18PS and 56Nm in the naked 650NK. Whereas, the same motor with a different tune made 62.54PS and 58.5Nm in the 650GT. The 650MT was powered by a 649cc BS4 inline-twin liquid-cooled motor that put out 70.70PS and 62Nm. The BS6-compliant motors are likely to be slightly down on power and torque, but we will have to wait till the official specs are revealed. 

Now, on to one of the most decisive factors: pricing. CFMoto India is looking at a similar price range as the BS4 models by locally sourcing a few parts for the bikes which will come via the CKD route. Whether CFMoto manages that is something we will have to wait and watch.

For reference, the BS4 model of the CFMoto 650NK was priced at Rs 3.99 lakh, while the 650MT retailed at Rs 4.99 lakh, and the 650GT at Rs 5.49 lakh. The CFMoto 650NK will compete against the Kawasaki Z650 and the 650GT will rival the Ninja 650.
