EXCLUSIVE: CFMoto 300SR India Launch Soon, Will Rival TVS Apache RR 310

Modified On Mar 5, 2021 11:12 AM By Praveen M. for CFMoto 300SR

The 300cc faired bike is slated for a festive season launch this year

CFMoto 300SR shares its powertrain with the CFMoto 300NK. Features an all-LED lighting system, TFT instrument cluster, radial tyres, and ABS. Expect the bike to be priced around Rs 20,000 over the 300NK.

In our exclusive interaction with the CEO of CFMoto India, Vamsi Krishna, we have learnt the brand plans to launch the CFMoto 300SR in the festive season, around October-December this year. CFMoto has received a lot of enquiries for the faired bike, and it is currently working on the pricing strategy. Considering the 300SR is essentially the faired version of the 300NK, expect the former to command a premium of around Rs 20,000 over the latter priced at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

The BS4-compliant international-spec 300SR makes 29.09PS at 8750rpm, 1.2PS more than the BS4 300NK. The peak torque stands at 25.3Nm at 7250rpm, 0.3Nm more than the naked. While CFMoto hasn’t revealed the exact specifications of the BS6 300NK, Vamsi says it’s almost the same as before. So expect CFMoto to apply the same mantra to the 300SR as well. The engine in the SR is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch, which should help in preventing the rear wheel from locking up while downshifting aggressively. This is absent on the 300NK.

Underpinnings include a 37mm inverted front fork, a rear monoshock, 292mm front and a 220mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. For better cornering capabilities, the motorcycle rolls on 110-section front and 140-section rear radial tyres, which offer stronger sidewalls than conventional rubber. At 165kg kerb, the bike is 14kg heavier than the naked. The only grinch is its low ground clearance of 135mm. Thankfully, the seat height is fairly low for a supersport, at 780mm. In fact, it is a whole 30mm lower than its arch-rival, the TVS Apache RR 310’s seat.

Instead of the upcoming CFMoto 300SR, you could also opt for the KTM RC 200 lower down the price range, at Rs 2.04 lakh. If you’re looking to spend more, check out the KTM RC 390, priced at Rs 2.60 lakh.
