EXCLUSIVE: CFMoto 400NK, 400GT And 300SR India Launch In July 2020

The 300SR will be CFMoto’s first fully faired 300cc motorcycle. The 400NK and the 400GT share the same design language as their bigger 650cc cousins. Both the motorcycles are powered by a 400cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder motor. 

As per our sources, CFMoto will be launching three new bikes in India in July 2020. The motorcycles in question are the 400NK, 400GT and the 300SR. Apart from these, the bike maker is already launching four motorcycles next week.

The approach behind the 400cc motorcycles is the same as the 650cc model lineup. So, there’s the 400NK, which is a naked motorcycle and the 400GT, which is a sport-tourer. Both motorcycles are powered by a 400cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder motor which produces around 40PS of power and 34Nm of torque. The 400NK as well as the 400GT are equipped with a six-speed gearbox. The conventional suspension setup is similar on both motorcycles and so is the braking hardware - twin 300mm front discs with J Juan calipers and a rear 220mm disc with dual-channel ABS.

Being a touring-focused motorcycle, the 400GT gets a larger 19-litre fuel tank. On the other hand, the naked variant sports a smaller 17-litre fuel tank. The other major difference between the two is weight. While the 400GT weighs 226kg, the naked variant tips the scale at 206kg. 

Speaking of the 300SR, the motorcycle will be based on the CFMoto 250SR, which was unveiled a few months back. CFMoto hasn’t revealed the 300SR, but we expect it to be powered by the same 292.4cc engine as the 300NK. In the naked variant, this motor pumps out 34PS and 20.5Nm of torque. But CFMoto might tune the engine to meet its sportbike character. The suspension setup is likely to remain the same as its underpowered cousin - upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

Although CFMoto’s international lineup consists of sub-300cc motorcycles, the company has confirmed that its India lineup will start from 300cc. With the launch of these new motorcycles next year, the Chinese bike maker will have a model lineup consisting of seven motorcycles! 

As of now, there’s no word on the price, but as these motorcycles will be brought to India via the CKD route. We expect the 400NK and the 400GT to be priced between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 4 lakh. In terms of competition, the 400NK will lock horns with the KTM 390 Duke, whereas the 400GT doesn’t have any direct rivals yet. The fully faired 300SR could retail at Rs 3 lakh, making it a perfect rival for the Ninja 300, KTM RC 390 and Benelli 302R.
