EXCLUSIVE: Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler Trademark Filed, Triumph Scrambler 400X Rival

It will rival the Triumph Scrambler 400X, Royal Enfield Scram 411, and Yezdi Scrambler

Hero MotoCorp has filed a trademark for the Mavrick 440 Scrambler, which will likely be a scrambler based on the flagship Hero Mavrick 440. The trademark application’s status says ‘Marked for Exam’ which means the trademark application has been assigned to the examiner who will determine if it is eligible for registration under the Trade Marks Act.

The Hero Mavrick 440 already has a smooth and torquey 440cc air-/oil-cooled SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft) single-cylinder engine producing 27.3PS at 6000rpm and 36Nm at 4000rpm, which is ideal for off-roading and hence will feel quite nice in a scrambler. The upcoming Mavrick 440 Scrambler is expected to feature similar underpinnings as the Mavrick 440. However, it may have simpler body panels along with a flatter bench-type seat and braced handlebar for off-roading purposes.

The 440 Scrambler is also likely to be fitted with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels, wrapped with block pattern tyres. Combine that with the Mavrick 440’s generous 175mm ground clearance and that does give the bike decent off-road capabilities. The bike is also expected to feature a headlight guard and a bash plate.

The Mavrick 440 Scrambler would be the first 'proper' scrambler from the Jaipur-based manufacturer and is expected to launch by late 2024 or early 2025, it could also be showcased at the EICMA 2024 in November. The 440 Scrambler is likely to be priced at around Rs 2.20 lakh, which is Rs 6,000 more than the mid-variant of the Mavrick 440 which costs Rs 2,14,000 (both ex-showroom Delhi).

Once launched, it will compete against the Triumph Scrambler 400X, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Royal Enfield Scram 411, and Yezdi Scrambler.
