This off road monster could be launched in India sometime later next year

The KTM 890 Adventure R has been spotted in India! This off road beast has been spied in Chakan near Bajaj’s production facility it. Given the condition of our roads, big ADVs can work wonders in India. So spotting the KTM 890 Adventure R in India has definitely had us excited, especially considering the ADV segment has witnessed a boom in the recent years. KTM could possibly be doing product testing on our shores or perhaps, it could just be brought in for display at the upcoming India Bike Week scheduled to take place in December in Goa.

Pay special attention to the R in this ADV’s name, for KTM recently updated the 890 Adventure R for 2023. What it means is it now gets new bodywork inspired from the KTM 450 rally bike, new feature-loaded five-inch TFT console, retuned fully adjustable WP XPLOR fork and monoshock, software updates and more! Other bits like a 21- and 18-inch wheel setup and wire-spoke tubeless tyres make the bike apt for our roads.

BREAKING: KTM RC 390 GP, RC 200 GP Special Colour Editions Launched

The bike’s 889cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin heart makes 104.7PS and 100Nm, 9.5PS and a substantial 13Nm more than what could be its chief rival, the Triumph Tiger 900.

So could this performance-oriented off road hooligan make its way to India? While the details about it are scarce, we feel it could be a hit if brought in India, so if it does, the bike might be launched sometime later next year. If here, it would go up against the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900, Ducati Multistrada 950 and the BMW F 850 GS.
