Haojue TR300 Cruiser Design Patents Unveiled

The bike is based on the same engine platform as Suzuki’s GSX-S300

Suzuki’s Chinese partner Haojue has released design patents of its upcoming 300cc cruiser, the TR300. The entry-level cruiser seems to be Haojue’s card into the bustling 300cc cruiser segment which is currently occupied by bikes such as the Honda CM300, Benda Jinjila 300 and Qingqi KR GV300. However, these bikes are positioned as more premium offerings which could work in Haojue’s favour, if it plays its cards right. 

While information is scarce, we do know that the TR300 shares its engine with its very own DR300 and Suzuki’s GSX-S300. So it’s likely to be the same 298cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 29.23PS and 27.8Nm. What may change is the way the power is delivered. We think Haojue may retune the engine to make most of its power in the bottom and mid-range. 

Its underpinnings are fairly conventional as well. The bike employs a telescopic fork in the front and a twin shock setup at the rear. Disc brakes at both ends paired with dual-channel ABS help anchor the bike. Those chunky tyres seem to be running on smaller 16-inch wheels, as is the case with most modern cruisers. The riding posture seems to be relaxed with forward-set foot controls and easy-to-reach handlebars.  

Feature-wise, the TR300 gets a full-digital instrument console, an LED headlight, LED taillight and turn indicators. That’s about all there is to summarise. Don’t expect the bike to be launched in India, as Haojue currently only deals in its domestic market. However, it’s comforting to know that the 300cc cruiser segment overseas does have some appeal other than Royal Enfields.
