Here’s Your First Look At Royal Enfield’s Electric Bike
The retro-looking Royal Enfield Electrik01 is in concept stage and its launch is still quite some time away
Almost a month after we learnt more about Royal Enfield’s electrification plans, a picture of the marque’s first electric motorcycle concept, the Electrik01, has surfaced on the Internet and it features quite some distinctive elements. While the image is far from the usually clear-cut spy shots of upcoming Royal Enfield bikes, it does reveal quite some interesting details about the Electrik01.
What’s instantly noticeable is the fact that the bike employs an old-fashioned girder fork, which however, is unlikely to make it to production. There’s also a round headlight along with a ‘fuel tank’, which could act as a storage space. The alloys are reportedly shod with Avon Roadrider tyres.

Summing up, the bike seems to be in its concept stage. We expect the first electric product coming out of Royal Enfield’s stable to arrive possibly by 2025, as the company’s MD, Siddhartha Lal, revealed back in August.
The production-spec Royal Enfield electric bike could offer performance equivalent to laid-back 250-300cc ICE bikes, and if the company intends to make a strong impression in the market, it’ll have to price it competitively. Whatever it may be, the future for the veteran brand in the EV space seems to be a rather exciting one.
