BREAKING: Hero HF 100 Launched: Most Affordable Hero Bike In India

Modified On Apr 15, 2021 10:59 AM By Praveen M. for Hero HF Deluxe

The motorcycle undercuts the base variant of the Hero HF Deluxe by Rs 1,300

The Hero HF 100 comes with a simpler black colour scheme and no electric start. Compared to the HF Deluxe, this bike packs a different rear suspension. Packs the same 97.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine as the HF Deluxe.

Hero MotoCorp has launched the new Hero HF 100 at Rs 49,400 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it the most affordable Hero bike in the country. It undercuts the base kick-start and spoke-wheel-equipped variant of the Hero HF Deluxe by Rs 1,300.

That said, this motorcycle packs proper alloy wheels with rugged tubeless tyres. It does not get electric start even as an option and the rear suspension appears to be different compared to the one in the Hero HF Deluxe. Instead of a chunky silver grab rail, the HF 100 comes with a simpler blacked-out tubular unit. This motorcycle looks no-nonsense thanks to the all-black colour scheme with grey and red sticker work.

All said and done, it still carries all the other important bits from its more premium sibling. The powertrain is the same 97.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected motor churning out 8.36PS at 8000rpm and 8.05Nm at 5000rpm as the HF Deluxe. It is paired to a 4-speed transmission.

The front end employs a telescopic fork. Even though the rear twin shock absorbers appear to be different, they offer the same 2-step preload adjustability as the HF Deluxe. The 130mm drum brakes at both ends have been carried over as well. It gets a 9.1-litre fuel tank, 0.5-litre smaller than the one on the HF Deluxe. The bike also weighs 1kg more, at 110kg kerb. That said, it still retains the same 805mm tall seat and 165mm ground clearance.

The recent price hike has made Hero MotorCorp’s entire lineup dearer, so introducing a sub-Rs 50,000 bike is a sound move, if you ask us. It will be able to compete better with Bajaj Auto, which offers the most affordable 100cc bike in India, the Bajaj CT100, at Rs 49,152 (ex-showroom Delhi).
