Hero MotoCorp Brings Showroom Experience To Your Living Room

From customising to booking, Adloid has reformed the digital buying experience

Hero MotoCorp has partnered with Adloids, a Delhi-based deep tech company, to develop a virtual showroom. The two-wheeler giant had already launched an online portal to book and purchase new products and accessories. And now, with this AR-based buying experience, Hero MotoCorp has certainly taken things up a notch.

The company hasn’t just built an app because that might not have been compatible with all devices. Instead, the entire system has been cleverly designed end to end. With any device (including a desktop), you can view Hero’s portfolio using the new virtual showroom and choose a product. The site even lets you configure the model as per your preferences. Once that is done, you can use your phone/tablet to scan the QR code to get a full-scale render right in your living room.

You can crop it to your desired scale, walk around for a 360-degree view, and have a near showroom-like experience. With the virtual sales assistant, the brand looks keen on replicating the experience of a brick-and-mortar store.

The automotive industry has taken a big hit in the pandemic, with many companies, including Hero MotoCorp, shutting down production. Adding to the woes are the state-wise restrictions, forcing dealerships to remain shut. Amid all of that, this ingenious idea by Hero should show the way forward, considering taking the digital route will allow brands to continue sales without compromising on safety.

That said, Hero MotoCorp isn’t the first company to introduce a virtual showroom with AR-based buying experience. The Suzuki Motorcycle Global Salon, too, has a 360-degree digital gallery (with virtual sales assistance) that lets you experience new product reveals on the platform. More recently, TVS introduced its AR-driven ARIVE app that allows you to experience its products at your convenience. It seems like showrooms are gradually becoming a thing of the past.
