Hero Passion Pro 110 BS6: Pros, Cons, Should You Buy One?

We’ve listed down the BS6 Passion Pro’s strengths and weaknesses to give you a better idea of what the bike is all about

Hero’s BS6 Passion Pro has received a significant amount of updates for 2020. It looks sharper, packs more punch and gets revised underpinnings which makes it a potent commuter. But it isn’t without its flaws. Here are three pros and cons you should keep in mind if you’re planning on buying one.

 

Pros:

Sporty styling makes it attractive

The Passion Pro's BS6 update brings with it fresher new looks. It gets a new headlamp assembly, a redesigned fuel tank with tank extensions and an updated tail lamp. Overall, we think it truly stands out compared to its more utilitarian rivals thanks to its dual-tone paint schemes, which really make the bike pop.

The fastest 110cc motorcycles we’ve tested

The Passion Pro's 110cc engine even in its BS6 guise feels lively and eager. It’s by far the fastest bike we've tested in the 110cc space. The fact that it weighs 1kg lighter than before at 118kg (disc variant) adds to its performance. 

The even spread of power along with precision fueling makes the motor extremely tractable within city limits.

The brakes feel solid and surefooted, offering great bite and progression. In terms of braking performance, it’s on par with the BS4 Platina 110 H-Gear but drops the anchor much quicker than the BS4 Radeon.  

 

Cons:

Lacks refinement

What's a bit disappointing is the lack of engine refinement. At speeds of around 55kmph, you feel vibrations through the fuel tank and footpegs. It does subside once you pass 55kmph but tends to creep back at around 80kmph, close to the Passion Pro BS6’s top speed. 

Inconsistent build quality is a letdown

Sure, Hero has made some major strides in terms of design, features and technology, but build quality is a whole different story. The inconsistent panel gaps, use of flimsy materials and the cheap switchgear quality on its products are quite disappointing. 

And that’s not all, look closer and you’d notice certain areas and bolts which have already started developing rust. This is especially surprising when you take into account that the bike has only run about 1,000km.

Soft seat gets uncomfortable over longer distances

The seats cushioning is set on the softer side. While it's comfortable for daily commutes it does get quite uncomfortable over long distances.  

Should You Buy One?

What will attract buyers is the Passion Pro's sporty styling which makes it look like it's for a segment or two above the 110cc space. What's also impressive is its performance and fuel efficiency. However, it does disappoint on the quality front. Overall the Passion Pro BS6 works well in the city environment and could be a worthy modern commuter.
