Hero Set to Unveil a Range of Premium Bikes in 200-400cc Segment This Year
The Karizma XMR 210 is set to be the first of the premium bikes Hero will launch
Hero recently revealed its plans for the Indian market at an investor presentation. The company intends to introduce a range of premium bikes in India, encompassing engine capacities from 200cc to 400cc. Here's a breakdown of what Hero has in store:
Beginner Premium Bikes:
Hero is set to revive the popular Karizma brand with a new liquid-cooled model called the Karizma XMR 210. Multiple spy shots of this bike have emerged, showcasing its sleek, fully faired design. The Karizma XMR 210 is expected to feature a 210cc liquid-cooled engine, delivering around 25PS of power and 20Nm of torque. Additionally, Hero plans to release a naked version of the bike, possibly named the Karizma XR.
Harley-Davidson Collaboration:
The Harley-Davidson X440, developed in collaboration with the iconic American manufacturer, was also present in the investor presentation. This retro roadster has recently been revealed to the public, and more details can be found here.
400cc Premium Bikes:
Hero is also focused on revitalizing its brand image with a sub-450cc liquid-cooled platform. Spy shots of the Xpulse 400, an adventure motorcycle based on this platform, have surfaced. However, the launch of the Xpulse 400 has been postponed and is now expected to take place between 2024 and 2025. Alongside the Xpulse, Hero plans to introduce a naked bike utilising the same 400cc liquid-cooled platform. Specific details about this model are currently unknown. Now the bikes based on the sub-450cc platform will be able to compete with the Triumph-Bajaj 350 Scrambler and Royal Enfield Hunter 450.
In terms of release dates, the first premium bike to hit the market will be the Harley-Davidson X440, on July 3. It will be followed by the Karizma XMR 210, which is anticipated to be launched in September 2023.
