The hardcore add-on adventure kit will be available from next month

It will be available in select Hero dealerships from March onwards. The rally kit is road legal. Here are the parts available in the XPulse 200 rally kit and its associated prices.

Adjustable suspension (Forks and monoshock) | Rs 25,000 |
Maxxis rally spec tyres | Rs 10,000 |
Flat seat | Rs 2,500 |
Handlebar risers | Rs 500 |
The rally kit changes the XPulse 200 from a serious off-roader to a hardcore one. While the stock motorcycle has 190mm front and 170mm rear suspension travel, the kit comes with fully-adjustable suspension with 250mm front and 220mm rear travel. This upgrade also increases the ground clearance to 275mm! Hero offers a longer side stand to compensate for the increase in ground clearance. Also included in the kit are Maxxis rally-spec knobbies that should help tame the muddiest of terrains. Other updates include a flatter and taller rally seat, handlebar risers for a more upright riding stance and a longer gear lever to accommodate adventure boots.

What’s not on offer is the Akrapovic exhaust setup and a larger chain sprocket set consisting of 12 and 40 teeth. The Akrapovic has been dropped due to its high cost but Hero is developing an aftermarket exhaust for the XPulse 200. According to Hero, the new drive ratios would need homologation as per Indian automotive laws. The company is working on it and could offer the larger sprocket set at a later stage.
