Hero XPulse 200T BS6 Vs XPulse 200 BS6: What’s Different?

Modified On Mar 23, 2021 09:00 AM By Manaal Mahatme for Hero XPulse 200T

Confused between the two siblings? This story should help you out to pick up the right one

Last week, Hero MotoCorp finally launched the XPulse 200T in the BS6 guise at Rs 1.12 lakh, almost Rs 19,000 more expensive than the previous model (only available in carb). We list down what exactly is different between this and the XPulse 200:

Different Handlebar
The Xpulse 200T isn’t meant for you to straddle your way through rough roads. Hence, it gets a slightly flatter handlebar compared to the XPulse 200.

Different Set Of Wheels
Given that the XPulse 200T is meant for the tarmac, it gets 17-inch alloy wheels at both the ends, instead of the 21/17-inch wire-spoke wheel setup on the XPulse 200. The alloys are shod with road-focused MRF Nylogrip tyres and not the dual purpose tyres seen on its sibling.

Different Suspension
While the XPulse 200 gets a 10-step preload adjustable monoshock at the rear, the tarmac-oriented sibling gets a 7-step unit. Though Hero hasn’t specified the suspension travel on the T, it is likely to be lesser than the XPulse 200’s travel.

Lesser Ground Clearance
Unlike the XPulse 200, the 200T isn’t meant to tackle anything more than the colossal speedbumps. Thanks to the smaller wheels and different suspension, the ground clearance has gone down from 220mm (on the XPulse 200) to 178mm.

Low-slung Exhaust
The XPulse 200’s purpose dictates it to have a high-slung exhaust. However, with the 200T less likely to wade through deep waters (unless you are in Mumbai), the bike is equipped with a traditional unit.

No Wind Protection
Though the ‘T’ in its name is for touring, the XPulse 200T doesn’t get a windscreen, unlike the XPulse 200.
