Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition Teased Ahead Of Launch
The new bike could debut as early as this week
Come the festive season, and Hero MotoCorp seems to be on a roll. Following the launch of the XPulse 200 4V, the bike maker has now released new teasers of the Xtreme 160R Stealth.
The Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth was spotted a few days ago at a dealer’s event, hinting that the bike could be launched as early as this week. As the name suggests, the bike will be available in a new stealthy-looking matte black colour. While the details aren’t out yet, Hero is likely to restrict the changes to the bike’s cosmetics only.
The Xtreme 160R will likely continue with the same 163cc single-cylinder 2-valve engine producing 15.2PS at 8,500rpm and 14Nm at 6,500rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Hero may even retain the same 37mm Showa-sourced fork and monoshock and the braking setup with single-channel ABS.
Hero MotoCorp could position the Xtreme 160R Stealth as the top variant of the bike. Currently, the 100 Million Edition is the top trim, which costs Rs 1,16,460 (ex-showroom). We expect the Stealth to demand a premium of Rs 2,000 over this.
The bike competes with the Yamaha FZ-FI, Suzuki Gixxer, and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. Not only is the Apache priced closer to the Xtreme, but it also packs more performance. Moreover, with the latest update, it poses a serious threat to the Xtreme.
