Hero Xtreme 1R Concept Unveiled At EICMA 2019
The concept seems based on Hero’s upcoming 160cc motorcycle
Hero has unveiled a new 160cc concept motorcycle at EICMA. It is called the Xtreme 1R Concept and could lead to a new 160cc motorcycle that could be a successor to the discontinued 150cc Xtreme Sports.

Hero has a habit of coming up with outlandish concept motorcycles and the new Xtreme 1R Concept does not disappoint. The single-seater concept gets a one-piece bodywork, an engine fairing, upside-down forks, a large petal disc brake with radial caliper upfront and slick tyres. It is highly unlikely that any of these will appear on the production version.
Completely opposite to the outlandish design is a simple air-cooled single-cylinder motor. It is expected to be BS6 compliant and feature fuel injection. The 160cc motor is expected to be all new and, like the Xtreme 200R, focus on bottom-end power.
With almost all major Indian bike makers having a 160cc motorcycle in their portfolios, Hero could be looking to make its sporty Xtreme brand more accessible. They did have the 150cc Xtreme Sports but that has been discontinued and is long overdue for a replacement. Hero could very well come up with a sporty 160cc Xtreme next year.
Hero also had a Rally Kit edition of the XPulse 200 at EICMA. The kit should make the already capable XPulse 200 even more hardcore. It will offer increased travel and adjustability for the suspension, rally tyres, improved ground clearance, a larger sprocket set, flatter seat and handlebar risers. Pricing for the kit without the exhaust would be around Rs 50,000.
