Hero Xtreme 200S 2V Now Discontinued
Is replaced by the recently-launched 4-valve sibling
Hero has discontinued the Xtreme 200S 2V from its lineup. This news comes after the 4V model, the Xtreme 200S 4V, was launched recently. While the now-discontinued Xtreme 200S 2V carried a price tag of Rs 1,35,360 (ex-showroom), the 4-valve model costs Rs 1,41,250 (ex-showroom), which is a premium of Rs 5,890.
The 2V model didn’t exactly set the sales charts on fire, and after the launch of the Xtreme 200S 4V, it was only a matter of when Hero would discontinue the 2V model from the lineup. The Xtreme 200S 4V getting a 4-valved engine has resulted in a performance gain of 1.17PS and 1.20Nm, the upgrade should be felt more in terms of refinement and fuel-efficiency.
Hero has also introduced 4-valve technology to their 160cc lineup with the launch of the Xtreme 160R 4V a month ago. So, it remains to be seen whether the Xtreme 160R gets the same treatment as the Xtreme 200S 2V in presence of its 4-valve sibling.
