Honda CB Shine Crosses 1 Lakh Sales In A Single Month

The 125cc motorcycle is the first in its segment to reach the sales milestone
Japanese bike manufacturer Honda seems to be on a roll with record-breaking sales of its products. After the Activa touched the 1.5 crore milestone, Honda’s popular motorcycle, the CB Shine, has taken the limelight now. The brand has sold 1,00,824 units of the bike in April 2017. This amounts to a whopping 51 per cent growth year-on-year. The CB Shine is the first 125cc motorcycle in India to sell over 1 lakh units in a single month. Moreover, the Shine is also the cash-cow in Honda’s motorcycle business, accounting for over 55 per cent of the company’s sales. Speaking on this achievement, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice-president - sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India said, “With a legacy of more than one decade, CB Shine is the most important motorcycle brand in our lineup. Driven by continuous innovation, CB Shine brand alone contributes 55 per cent to Honda’s motorcycle sales. Such is the shine of the brand with Honda’s high quality and reliability that today every second 125cc motorcycle customer in India is buying a CB Shine.”
A 5-speed variant of the CB Shine is also sold by Honda, named CB Shine SP. The bike comes with a few visual updates and the same 125cc engine. The CB Shine range competes against the likes of the Bajaj V12, Bajaj Discover 125 and Yamaha Saluto.
